Ballerina Bun

THE LOOK

This classic ballerina bun has a clean, tight look. The bun swirls all your hair up onto the crown of your head and should hold in place while you pirouette across the dance floor or waltz around productively at work. If ballerinas can pull off this bun, you know it will look elegant and longlasting in your hair too.

HOW TO GET IT BALLERINA BUN

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Brush
  • Strong hair elastic
  • Hair donut
  • Clear hair elastic
  • Bobby pins
  • Hairspray (optional)

1). Brush your hair into a neat high ponytail that sits on your crown and secure with a strong hair elastic. Place the hair donut at the base of your ponytail.

2). Fan your ponytail out in all directions to cover your hair donut. It helps if you tilt your head forward and look down. Take your clear hair elastic and place it around your hair donut.

3). Ensure your hair donut is completely covered with hair and tighten the clear elastic around the base of the donut, creating the bun shape. If your hair is long, you can lift the donut slightly to allow space underneath for your hair to fit.

4). Holding your bun in place with one hand, carefully twist the rest of your hair around the base of the bun.

5). Pin your ballerina bun neatly in place with bobby pins. A spritz of hairspray will help keep it looking ballet-perfect.

TOP TIP : If your hair is very straight, curl the ends under before you begin to ensure you don’t have any pieces sticking out. Also, remember to choose a hair donut that matches the color of your hair.
