The figure-8 bun is, quite literally, a clever twist on the traditional bun. Twisting the hair into a bun and then twisting out the center creates an 8-shaped bun that will set your hairstyle apart from the rest. This is a very neat style that suits professional settings and smart events.
IDEAL HAIR LENGTH
HAIR EXTENSIONS NEEDED?
Yes, this style is best in long to very long hair.
Push a decorative hair stick down through the center of the bun to add a little Far Eastern flair to the style.
Wear your figure-8 bun sideways and turn it into an infinity bun!

HOW TO GET IT FIGURE-8 BUN
WHAT YOU NEED
- Bobby pins
- Clip or hair stick (optional)
- Hairspray (optional)
1). Brush your hair into a low ponytail and twist it down. If you’re right-handed, twist counter-clockwise, and if you’re left-handed, twist clockwise.
2). Keep twisting your hair around and into a low bun.
3). Take the center part of your bun (the first twist-around) and flip it up and above your original bun.
4). Adjust the twist to sit in a flat figure-8 shape. Ensure the ends are tucked in at the base or side of your bun, depending on how long your hair is.
5). Secure the figure-8 bun with bobby pins at the top and base. You can also insert a hair stick vertically through the center or use a clip across the center to keep this style in place. If needed, use a spritz of hairspray for extra hold.
TOP TIP : Keep the twist tight (but not too tight!) to help maintain the shape and sleekness of this unique bun.
