The gorgeous half crown of braids in this style is created by connecting two fishtail braids from your temples to the back of your head. This pretty half-up braid can be worn as an everyday hairstyle and is perfect for a beach wedding. Half-crown braids are also great for keeping your hair out of your eyes when wearing your hair down. This style works well in straight or curly hair.

HAIR EXTENSIONS NEEDED?
Weave flowers through the braid to create a flower crown or adorn the back of the braid with a bow for a pretty finish.
If you haven’t mastered the fishtail braid, you can use the regular braid technique instead to achieve a similar half-crown style.

HOW TO GET IT FISHTAIL CROWN BRAIDS
WHAT YOU NEED
- Bobby pins
- Clear hair elastic (optional)
1). Start by taking a 1- to 2-inch section of hair near your temple.
2). Split the section in two and start to fishtail braid. Keeping one half in each hand, cross a small piece of hair from one section to the other. Keep crossing over small pieces of hair to form the fishtail braid. Once you have braided to the middle of your head, weave a bobby pin through the fishtail and pin to the hair underneath.
3). Repeat the fishtail braid on the opposite side.
4). To join the braids, twist the end of the right braid over and behind the left. Tuck the ends of the hair down and pin in place. Arrange the hair around the crown to disguise the ends of the braids.
TOP TIP : If your hair is fine or very thick and you are having trouble pinning the braids, you can tie them together with a clear hair elastic. Take a small piece of hair from underneath to wrap around the elastic to cover it, then hide the ends of the braids under the rest of your hair to finish off the style.
