Turn the classic ponytail style on its head with the flipped-over ponytail. By turning the base of the ponytail inside out and pushing it through itself, you can add body to your ponytail and give it a different dimension. The knot or bun that you’re left with at the base of the ponytail is its own accessory, though a flower corsage or ribbon can be added for a touch of color. Perfect for school, work, or going out with friends, this style is a pretty alternative to a regular ponytail.
IDEAL HAIR LENGTH
Medium to long
HAIR EXTENSIONS NEEDED?
Use hair elastics that match the color of your hair to keep them inconspicuous. Add a pin or flower corsage in between the flip for an elegant or formal look.
Combine the flipped-over ponytail with the half ponytail for a pretty half-up style. You can also continue flipping your ponytail for a double- or triple-flip hairstyle. Combine this technique with the bobble ponytail for an almost-braided ponytail look.

HOW TO GET IT FLIPPED-OVER PONYTAIL
WHAT YOU NEED
- Hair elastic
- Topsy Tail tool
1). Brush your hair to remove any knots. Gather your hair into a ponytail at the back of your head or sitting low above your neck and secure it with an elastic.
2). Take your Topsy Tail tool and place it in your hair above your ponytail elastic.
3). Pull your ponytail up through the loop of the Topsy Tail tool.
4). While holding the end of your ponytail up, pull the Topsy Tail down. You may need to adjust it as your hair elastic is flipped over. Keep pulling your hair down until it is all the way through.
5). Adjust the twisted sections to sit neatly.
TOP TIP : It’s possible to do this style without the Topsy Tail: simply use your fingers to make a space above your hair elastic and flip your ponytail through. Alternatively, you can DIY your own tool with fabric-covered wire.
