Love is in the hair! You can actually wear your heart in your hair with this romantic braided hairstyle. This look uses a technique similar to the angel braid to create a heart-shaped outline. Although it might seem impossible, this style isn’t as hard to master as you’d think!
IDEAL HAIR LENGTH
Medium to long
HAIR EXTENSIONS NEEDED?
Yes, but you can do this in your own hair with practice.
Add a red or pink ribbon at the bottom of the heart for an extra-sweet finish.
This heart stands out clearly on straight hair but you can also curl the ends of your hair for a more romantic hairstyle. Instead of finishing in a half-up style, incorporate your heart-shaped angel braid into a low ponytail.

HOW TO GET IT HEART-SHAPED ANGEL BRAID
WHAT YOU NEED
- Tail comb
- Hair clip
- 1 clear hair elastic
1). Brush your hair and create a deep center part with your tail comb. Use your hair clip to keep half your hair away while you do the first braid.
2). Make a horizontal part at the crown, running from your center part to your ear. Pick up a section of hair at the crown and split into three.
3). Begin your angel braid, angling it toward your face, only adding in hair on the outer side of the braid. After you have added about three pieces to the braid, turn the braid by angling it toward your ear to create the rounded top of the heart.
4). Continue braiding the heart shape, only adding in hair from the front until you reach the ear. At this point, stop adding hair and continue with a basic braid until you reach the middle of your head at your neckline. Secure with a hair elastic. Release the clip from the other side and repeat the angel braid on the other side to match the first.
5). Connect the two braids at the back of your head with the clear elastic to form the bottom of the heart.
TOP TIP : To keep the heart shape as even as possible, only add in small sections to your braid. Keep the braids quite tight so that you can see where it’s going and make adjustments as you go.
