Little Bo Sweet

There’s no denying it: This hairstyle is downright cute. Practice making the loops of hair a few times in advance. To get it right, you need to know the stretchiness of your hair elastics!

1. Wash and blow dry the hair. Curl the ends of the hair with a curling iron to make the hair a bit wavy.

2. Divide the hair into front and back sections with a part that runs from ear to ear over the crown of the head.

3. Make a middle part in the front section of hair. Weave the hair on one side of the part into a French braid.

4. Continue braiding the hair until you are about 3 inches from the ends and then secure with a hair elastic.

5. Repeat this process on the other side of the head.

6. Grasp a 2½-inch section of hair at the crown of the head just below the part.

7. Gather the hair in a ponytail and wrap a hair elastic loosely (probably twice) around the ponytail close to the scalp. Twist the hair elastic a third time and bring it around the ponytail, but this time only draw the hair partially through the elastic to create a loop of hair.

8. Pull the hair elastic a bit, twist it again, and then draw the hair through again to create another loop of hair. The final effect should resemble a bow.

9. Grasp another section of hair that’s the same size as the first, and repeat the technique of creating a double loop in the hair.

10. Repeat this process to create three bow-like loops at the top back of the head.

11. Repeat it again to create two bow-like loops at the bottom of the back section, for a total of five loops.

12. Grasp the braids and cross them in an X over the top of the head.

13. Draw the braids downwards, around the loops of hair, and connect them below the loops of hair with a hair elastic.

14. Pin the loose ends to the head with bobby pins.

15. Mist with holding spray. If you like, add a couple of bow-shaped hair accessories.
